Moon Mama Artisan: Millstream Staghorn Sumac Ink
BK (Before Kris), when I heard the word "sumac" I immediately thought "poison" and just moved along. Turns out not all sumac is going to make you itch! Staghorn sumac, which you can find growing by the side of the road, can be harvested into winter and made into ink. Once brewed, staghorn sumac ink is a delicate pale pink. Great for drawing, abstract art, and just playing around.
Foraged in New Hampshire.
Staghorn Sumac ink made with: staghorn sumac berries, water, wintergreen EO
Shake before using; store in cool dry place. Some natural inks fade over time and with exposure to light.
